Help Katy-Based Clothed By Faith Provide Essential Clothing to Over 13,000 Underprivileged Children This School Year
As the new school year draws closer, local Katy-based organization, Clothed By Faith, has embarked on an ambitious mission to provide clothing to over 13,000 underprivileged children in the Greater Houston area. Serving 23 school districts last year, this dynamic group clothed a remarkable 11,261 children, each donation providing recipients with more than something to wear.
"Clothed by Faith last year provided clothing to over 11,000 children across the Greater Houston area, and with your help, we can aim to clothe even more this year," expressed Melinda Stephenson, the executive director of Clothed By Faith. "We provide much more than just clothing; we deliver confidence, hope, and dignity."
Clothed By Faith's humble beginnings trace back to 2013 when founder Abi Fourie, drawing from her personal experiences with poverty, felt a strong calling to reach the underprivileged in her affluent community. From its inception in an empty garage to its current operations spanning two branches in Katy and Deer Park, Clothed By Faith has evolved under the strategic leadership of Abi, Audrey Hosie, and Susanne Hewson, along with many dedicated and passionate volunteers.

The organization follows a simple yet impactful model – giving one week's worth of clothing to those in need. Each donation is carefully selected to match each recipient's preferences and is delivered in a beautiful gift bag filled with notes of encouragement. Shoes are re-packaged to look like new, and undergarments and socks are always brand new.
While the organization seeks clothing donations, monetary contributions are equally impactful. A donation of $25 can clothe a person for an entire week. While the charity expressly accepts only new socks and undergarments, it appreciates all sizes and types of clothing for both genders. Donors are requested to wash and sort the donation by size and gender and bag them separately in small kitchen trash bags.
As the new school year draws near, Clothed By Faith reiterates its plea to residents of Katy to step up their support to ensure no child is left without adequate clothing. Interested donors may reach out to either of Clothed By Faith's branches:
