Harris County Sheriff's Office to Host Career Fair on June 8
The Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), Texas's largest and the third largest in the U.S., is hosting a Career Fair on Saturday, June 8. The event, to be held at the HCSO Academy at 2316 Atascocita Road, Humble, TX 77396, seeks to attract graduating high school seniors and adults interested in a career in law enforcement, according to a release issued by officials from HCSO.
Visitors to the Career Fair will have the opportunity to learn about the various available career paths within the HCSO. With nearly 4,600 employees, and an additional 200 reservists, HCSO is responsible for the safety of over 4.1 million residents in Harris County.
Top of HCSO's recruitment list are detention and communication officers. The starting salaries for these roles are competitive. Detention Officers start at $22.39 per hour, while Communication Officers start at $21.39 per hour. In addition to competitive pay, the HCSO offers a comprehensive benefits package to its staff, including health insurance, a pension plan, and paid vacation.
The career fair will provide potential applicants with valuable information on the application process, on-site testing and background screening.
