Harris County Public Library’s Curiosity Cruiser Comes to Town
Thursday, June 1 @ 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM | Hockley Community Center
Help us kick off our summer children’s program with a visit from Harris County Public Library’s state-of-the-art bookmobile, The Curiosity Cruiser. Families are invited to story time in the community center, followed by a visit on the cruiser. Every child will receive a free book! Women’s Self-Defense Class

Deter possible threats with ready-to-use self-defense tactics, body mechanics, and strategies. Not only will you learn to defend yourself physically, but you will learn the situational awareness necessary to react to a given situation. Join an instructor from the Harris County Precinct 5 Constables Office to learn tactics to protect yourself and manage difficult confrontations. A limited number of spots are available. History Discussion Group: Archaeology in Houston-Area State Parks

This program will explore park history, discuss current archaeology projects in our area, and give an overview of the exciting events planned to celebrate 100 years of Texas state parks. An Evening Under the Stars

Observe the night sky through a variety of telescopes with members of Houston Astronomical Society. Enjoy views of the moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, star clusters, and more!
