Fulshear Police to Offer Citizens Police Academy
Beginning in June, the Fulshear Police Department will host a Citizens Police Academy. For 10 weeks, this program will be offered every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The Citizens Police Academy gives residents an opportunity to see how the Fulshear Police Department operates and is available for residents of all backgrounds and occupations. It is offered as a public service to the community at no cost to participants.
- Week One: Orientation
- Week Two: Traffic Stops
- Week Three: Crime Scene Search and Investigations
- Week Four: K-9 and Narcotics
- Week Five: Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Tour
- Week Six: Building Clearing
- Week Seven: Active Shooter
- Week Eight: Use of Force
- Week Nine: Community Oriented Policing
- Week 10: Graduation
Applicants must be employed in the city of Fulshear or be a resident within the city limits of Fulshear, at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and pass a background check. Class is limited to twenty participants. Please note that the tentative class schedule is subject to change.
