Fort Bend County Youth Employment Program Applications Now Open

January 12 2024

Fort Bend County is now accepting applicants for the 2024 Summer Youth Employment Program.

Since 2019, Fort Bend County has employed nearly 1,000 16-to-21-year-old students and young adults in the Summer Youth Employment Program (YEP), which provides employment for youth during the summer.

From June 5 to July 31, the Summer Youth Employment Program in Fort Bend County will cover a broad range of opportunities requiring various skills. YEP aims to help youth gain the abilities and training necessary to be successful by imparting productive workplace skills. Through curated programming, YEP helps to build teamwork, requires effective time management, and instills positive self-esteem while helping youth and young adults gain essential skills and access to resources necessary to effectively navigate professional employment from youth to adulthood and their careers.

This summer, Fort Bend County's YEP will offer a broad range of openings across 38 diverse County departments, with 250 openings available for both full-time and part-time positions. Applicants must be between 16 and 21 years of age and reside within Fort Bend County. Additionally, applicants must be able to work 40 hours per week and remain available to work during the entire 8-week program. Accepted applicants will be employed as temporary workers with Fort Bend County and will be paid up to $15.00 per hour.
