Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Extends Application Deadline for Fall 2024 Citizens Police Academy Program
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office (FBCSO) has extended the application deadline for its fall 2024 Citizens Police Academy (CPA) program to September 8th. Along with extending the application timeline, the FBCSO has also rescheduled the class dates. The revised schedule for the academy program now spans from September 12th, 2024 to November 14th, 2024.
The FBCSO's CPA program seeks to draw in not only those who desire a deeper grasp of local law enforcement issues but also individuals curious about possibly pursuing a law enforcement career. The academy will accept only 35 students, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The program, which will be held at Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, will run on consecutive Thursdays from 6:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. There is no cost for the program and participants will be given the opportunity for a unique behind-the-scenes look at the various divisions of the Sheriff's Office. This includes Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Detention, 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center, Law Enforcement Training, and Narcotics. The purpose of this is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the inner workings of a modern police force.
