About the Fussell Senior Center

The Senior Services Department coordinates activities and programs to serve older Americans and others. Active seniors enjoy a full schedule of fun and games, exercise and health checks, day trips and movies, crafts, parties, holiday celebrations, dining out and much more. The department's goal is to provide seniors with programs and activities that stimulate their hearts, minds, physical well-being and in turn, encourages them to maintain an independent and productive lifestyle.

The Fussell Senior Citizen Center was built in 2012 and is a member of the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC). The Senior Center won Houston’s Best Senior Center in 2017 and 2018 for the Senior Resource Guide’s Annual Reader’s Choice Award.

In 2003, a 95-year-old Katy Senior inspired the moto used for the center’s monthly "Senior Stuff" newsletter, “Why Stay at Home When You Can Go”. The Senior Services Department believes that it’s important for seniors to stay busy and on-the-go because it helps keep them young at heart. The department strives to accomplish this through a variety of activities and programs.
