Experience Tradition and Community at the 2024 Waller County Fair and Rodeo

August 26 2024

Waller County is once again set to welcome the much-anticipated Waller County Fair and Rodeo, slated to draw enthusiastic crowds from September 26 to October 5, 2024. The annual event, located at Waller County Fair 21988 FM 359 in Hempstead, is a product of the labor of love from the Waller County Fair Association (WCFA), a non-profit organization that pours its heart into promoting a productive and wholesome lifestyle for the county's youth.

Since its inception in 1945, the Waller County Fair and Rodeo has evolved into a cherished local tradition, expanding the range of activities, community facilities, and, most notably, scholarship opportunities for the children and youth of Waller County. Every year, the Fair and Rodeo comes together thanks to the invaluable contributions of numerous volunteers who help create a lively and enriching environment.

Beyond being a festival of fun and thrills, the Waller County Fair and Rodeo also drastically contributes to the community. The event is instrumental in providing academic and vocational scholarships, channeling its resources to mold future generations with strong character, excellent work ethics, sportsmanship, and a robust sense of personal responsibility.

This year's lineup introduces events packed with action and education, promising entertainment for all age groups. Highlights include Youth Rodeo, cattle and livestock showcases, and a wide range of activities, from Mutton Bustin’ and welding competitions to a cornhole tournament. The festivities peak with the CPRA Finals Rodeo, a must-see for cowboy lifestyle enthusiasts.

Beyond these activities, the Fair is also set to present Creative Living showcases and diverse educational events. As the sun sets, the fairgrounds will echo with live music performances by artists like Josh Abbott Band, Jesse Raub Jr., and Trent Willmon, among others.

The event also includes a host of family-friendly activities, such as a Parade in Downtown Hempstead on September 28, followed by the announcement of Little Mr. & Miss Waller County and a Kids Funday. A thrilling carnival will be open from Wednesday, October 2 through Saturday, October 5.

Ticket options are designed to fit everyone's plan. Adult day passes start at $15, with special rates for children and seniors. For those looking to enjoy the full nine days, season passes are available starting at $50 in advance, while the Super Pass of $100 in advance provides gate admission for all days and unlimited carnival rides.

Waller County Fair and Rodeo is more than just a festival—it's a tradition, a celebration, and an investment in the community's future. So, mark your calendars and be ready to be a part of this grand event that combines fun, education and investment in future generations.
