Exciting Transition Ahead: Williamsburg Settlement Begins Move to My Neighborhood News

November 05 2024

Hello, Williamsburg Settlement residents! We have some important news to share regarding the future of our community’s online presence. After careful consideration at the September Board meeting, it has been decided that we will gradually transition from our current website, wsmaonline.org, to the My Neighborhood News (MNN) platform, which is owned and operated by the Krenek family who produced our printed newsletter for a number of years.

Why the Change?

Many of you may have already noticed that a lot of the content you love is now also available on the MNN site. This modern platform not only provides better layout and eye-catching graphics but also features engaging content about our community and surrounding areas. Plus, MNN offers a weekly digest emailed to subscribers, making it a dynamic source of information that will better serve our residents.

One of the biggest benefits? The Krenek staff will take over writing articles for our community, freeing up our Board members from this responsibility. And the best part is that this transition comes at no cost to our Association—MNN is funded by local businesses who advertise on the platform.

For more specifics, please refer to the detailed email that was recently sent to all Williamsburg Settlement residents about the transition.

What’s Next?

The first step in this transition process is auto-enrolling current subscribers of our website to MNN. This way, residents can get familiar with the new format and content. In the recent email from the Williamsburg Settlement Maintenance Association, residents were advised of the deadline of November 4 to opt out of this auto-enrollment if they preferred not to receive the MNN updates.

It’s important to note that we won’t be making this transition overnight; there are several major details to iron out first. At some point, our wsmaonline.org URL will redirect to the MNN site, streamlining our online presence. We welcome your feedback on how we can enhance the site to better suit our community’s needs.

We look forward to this exciting new chapter and appreciate your support as we enhance our community’s communication and engagement! Stay tuned for more updates!
