Cy-Fair Women's Club Expands Scholarship Offering to 35 Recipients

January 05 2024

Today, the Cy-Fair Women's Club (CWC) announced that they will be awarding thirty-five $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors this spring, an increase from the average 20 scholarships that are awarded each year. Although this year's scholarships were announced in October of last year, the number of scholarships that will be awarded this year has just been approved and announced by the CWC.

The CWC encourages seniors - both male and female - to apply, particularly those who reside in Cypress Fairbanks ISD boundaries and are graduating from any CFISD high school, home school or private school, and plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university or technical school on a full-time basis. The primary focus of this scholarship is to award students who give back to their community through community service.

Although the CWC gives an average of 20 students this scholarship annually, the CWC will be extending this opportunity to 35 deserving seniors, each of whom will be awarded $1,000. The CWC's generosity is directly sourced from fundraising efforts from their large-scale event Shop Til You Drop, which takes place every September, along with support from the CWC's Community Sponsors. To date, the CWC has awarded over $200,000 to more than 200 students, with twenty-three $1,000 scholarships awarded in 2023.

Since 1982, the CWC has been on mission to "bring women together to better our community" through service and philanthropy by providing scholarships, community charitable assistance, volunteer services, and financial support to non-profit organizations in the Harris County and Cypress area.

The deadline to apply for this annual scholarship opportunity is Monday, February 5, 2024. The application can be found on the CWC's website at this link.
