Creekside Park Splash Pad Reopens April 1: What Lakemont Families Should Know About the Upcoming Season

March 12 2026

As warmer weather returns to Fort Bend County, families in Lakemont have something to look forward to: the splash pad at Creekside Park will officially reopen for the season on April 1. The popular water play feature, located at 21555 Lakemont Bend Lane in Richmond, will remain open through December 1 each year, offering months of refreshing outdoor fun for children and families across the neighborhood.

For many residents, the splash pad has quickly become one of the most beloved features of Creekside Park, a modern recreation space developed to serve the growing Lakemont community. As spring temperatures climb in the Richmond area, the reopening signals the start of another season where neighbors gather, kids cool off, and families spend more time outdoors together.

Creekside Park itself represents a major community investment. The approximately $5 million project, developed through Fort Bend MUDs 122 and 123, first opened to residents in November 2024 after construction began in February 2023. The park sits at the intersection of Lakemont Bend Lane and Bellaire Boulevard, providing a centrally located recreational hub for Lakemont residents and nearby Fort Bend County neighborhoods.

Beyond the splash pad, Creekside Park offers a wide range of amenities designed to bring people together. The park features pickleball courts, a tennis court, a basketball court, multipurpose athletic fields, a playground, pavilion, and an event center, creating opportunities for both casual recreation and organized community gatherings throughout the year.

Since opening, the park has become a frequent destination for residents looking for outdoor activities close to home. Families can watch children play on the playground while others enjoy games on the courts or fields, making it a multi-generational space that reflects Lakemont’s focus on community connection and active living.

With the splash pad set to reopen April 1, residents can expect Creekside Park to once again become a lively gathering place as spring and summer approach. Whether families stop by for a quick afternoon cooldown or spend the day enjoying the park’s many amenities, the seasonal reopening offers another reminder of the shared spaces helping shape Lakemont’s growing sense of community.
