Community Mourns Loss of Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Retired K9

December 27 2023

The Harris County Constable Precinct 4 is mourning the loss of one of their own. Retired K9 "Jon", a faithful servant of the community, was put down due to age and related medical conditions on December 27. Serving from 2015 to August 2021, K9 "Jon" was known for his fearlessness and his unyielding dedication to serving and protecting the community.

During his time with the constable's office, K9 "Jon" left behind a remarkable legacy that is solidified in his stats. The fearless K9 assisted in 197 arrests and was deployed 275 times for narcotics-related cases and 81 times for patrol deployments. Unwavering in his dedication, K9 "Jon" also seized $354,657.00 in currency, completed 4,235 training hours, and participated in 15 public demonstrations.

Jon was more than just a K9 officer to his colleagues at the constable's office - he was a part of the family. His heroic service to the community of Precinct 4 won't be forgotten. As we commemorate his dedication, we are reminded of the invaluable work of K9 officers in maintaining the security of our communities. Rest in peace, K9 "Jon", and thank you for your service.
