Comal ISD Free Summer Meals 2026: Four Locations Offering Breakfast, Lunch and Meal Kits for Children Across New Braunfels and Canyon Lake
For many families, summer brings a welcome break from the school year. It can also create challenges when students no longer have access to daily school breakfasts and lunches. To help bridge that gap, Comal Independent School District is once again providing free summer meals for children across the community, ensuring students continue to have access to nutritious food while school is out of session.
Through a partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank, Comal ISD is offering both on-site meal service and take-home meal distributions at four locations throughout New Braunfels and Canyon Lake during June and July. The program is designed to support children and families while helping ensure that access to healthy meals remains consistent during the summer months.
Why the Comal ISD Summer Meals Program Matters
For families throughout New Braunfels, Canyon Lake and surrounding Comal County communities, summer meal programs provide an important resource that supports student health, learning and well-being. Research consistently shows that children who maintain access to nutritious meals during summer break are better prepared to return to school ready to learn when classes resume.
The Comal ISD Summer Meals Program is open to all children ages 18 and younger. No identification, paperwork or proof of income is required. Children must be present to receive meals, and meals served at district sites must be consumed on campus.

Unlike the on-campus meal program, children must be registered in advance to receive the meal kits.

Whether children attend a meal site for breakfast and lunch or receive food boxes through the San Antonio Food Bank partnership, the program reflects a broader commitment to supporting students beyond the classroom.
As communities across Comal County continue to grow, programs like these help ensure children have the resources they need to stay healthy, active and ready for the upcoming school year.
