City of Weston Lakes Announces Beginner Swimming Lessons Schedule

The City of Weston Lakes will once again be able to sponsor beginner swimming lessons for the children of the City of Weston Lakes with funding provided by the Fort Bend County Child Safety Fund.  We also appreciate the cooperation of the Weston Lakes Country Club in providing a venue to allow the lessons to take place – the Family Pool located in The Park (adjacent to Pecan Park). You can access this location through Pecan Park or from Bowser Road.

The group lessons introduce water safety, comfort in the water, breath control, swimming on the front and back, basic swimming skills development, and fun in the water. These classes will emphasize water safety and how to swim without assistance. Again, these introductory lessons are geared for a beginning-level child who is at least 3 years old.

There will be two, two-week sessions beginning in July (July 9 – 19, and July 23 – Aug 2). Each set will be four days per week (Tue – Fri), and will last for thirty minutes. There will be multiple lesson times for each session to ensure small class size. The lessons will begin at 8:30, 9:15, 10:00, and 10:45. We will be starting the first session on July 9.

The Schedule:

Session 1: July 9 – July 19
Session 2: July 23 – August 2

Although this is later notice than in past years, we are asking that you let us know of your intention to participate as soon as possible to allow for the required planning and coordination.
