CFISD Students to Perform in Houston Repertoire Ballet's Production of The Nutcracker
Sixteen CFISD students have been cast in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 25th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring professional guest artists Nikisha Fogo as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Aaron Robison as the Cavalier, with the new HRB company orchestra directed by Tarana Taylor.
Founded by nationally acclaimed teachers and choreographers Victoria Vittum and Gilbert Rome, Houston Repertoire Ballet (HRB) is a pre-professional ballet company celebrating 28 years of providing professional quality performances.
The following CFISD students will participate in The Nutcracker:
- Madelyn Crozier, Smith Middle School;
- Rebecca Rosas, Sprague Middle School;
- Emma Burkhart, Sprague Middle School;
- Ayah Elbarga, Aragon Middle School;
- Annalise Howard, Salyards Middle School;
- Liliana Cuestas, Kahla Middle School;
- Lauren Freeman, Cypress Ranch High School;
- Willow DeAlejandro, Labay Middle School;
- Cassandra Douthitt, Cypress Woods High School;
- Angela Grace Huang, Cypress Woods High School;
- Emma Mangold, Hamilton Middle School;
- Lily Marshall, Cypress Creek High School;
- Maddie Nguyen, Cy-Fair High School;
- Mallory Burkhart, Bridgeland High School;
- Lily Han, Cypress Falls High School; and
- Chantal Noble, Langham Creek High School.
The goal of HRB is to give young, talented, dedicated dancers the serious training needed for them to enter the professional world of dance, and many of them advance to professional ballet companies throughout the country. HRB graduates have danced with New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet and other prestigious companies.
The Nutcracker performances are Dec. 1-3, and tickets can be purchased at www.hrbdance.org.
