CFISD Names New Principal for Aragon Middle School
Dirk Heath, associate principal at Cypress Woods High School, was named the new principal at Aragon Middle School on Dec. 18. Heath replaces Lloyd Turner, who was named the principal at Cypress Woods High School in November.
Heath has 29 years of experience in education. His career began as a technology and business teacher and coach in Aldine ISD. After 12 years as a classroom teacher, he moved into administration, joining CFISD as an assistant principal at Bleyl Middle School in 2007. He served in the role for four years before serving as an assistant principal at Cypress Falls High School for one year.
In 2012, he accepted his current associate principal position at Cypress Woods.
During his tenure as an assistant principal, Heath twice served as a summer school principal.
Heath earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University and Master of Educational from Prairie View A&M University.
“I’m honored to serve as the next principal at Aragon Middle School,” Heath said. “I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that Lloyd Turner has established and I look forward to building relationships and working with the Aragon staff, students and Aragon community members.”
