Celebrate the Season with Art, Jazz, and Holiday Magic at the Pearl Fincher Museum in Spring
With the holiday season in full swing, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring is buzzing with activity, offering the community a full calendar of festive events, family fun, cultural experiences, and local shopping.
Located at 6815 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379, the Pearl Fincher Museum is a cornerstone of the northwest Houston art scene. As the only fine arts museum in Harris County outside the Houston city center, the Pearl is dedicated to providing free access to original art and enriching educational programs. Entirely supported through community donations, this beloved institution continues to welcome visitors from Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands, and beyond with a wide variety of events and exhibitions that speak to the heart of the community.
Final Weeks of Fall Exhibitions – Through January 10
Now through January 10, 2026, art lovers can catch the final weeks of two powerful exhibitions. In the Main Gallery, “A Curated Life: Selections from the Collection of Andy Moran” features 47 works primarily by African-American artists—many of whom studied under Dr. John Biggers and Carroll Harris Simms at Texas Southern University. This personal collection by Andy Moran and his late wife, Mary Lou Chester, offers an intimate view into decades of intentional collecting and cultural preservation, with works by noted artists like Dr. John Biggers, Kermit Oliver, Linda Hinojos, and Earlie Hudnall, Jr.
Meanwhile, the Cole Gallery showcases “The Maker’s Muse: Contemporary Photography from the Artists of the American Society of Photographers,” a compelling traveling exhibition of 60 photographs that range from sweeping landscapes to deeply expressive portraits.
Admission is always free, and the museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is designed for all ages and offers a joyful way to spend time together during the holiday season. Though admission is free, registration is requested at pearlmfa.org.

Later that afternoon at 3 p.m., the museum will host “Saturday Jazz with Andy Moran,” a concert featuring Tex Allen and the Sunshine Friends. This unique performance, part of the Wanda M. Pauling “Pearlformance” Concert Series, will fill the Main Gallery with the sounds of trumpet, piano, flute, cello and violin. The ensemble includes Doug Harris, Cymphoni Pringle, Greg Lewis, Marcia Sterling, and Dan Strba—all performing surrounded by the art of the “A Curated Life” exhibit for an immersive musical and visual experience.
Unique Holiday Shopping at the Museum Store
For those looking to skip the mall crowds and find gifts that truly stand out, the Museum Store at the Pearl offers a curated selection of handmade jewelry, local art, home décor, children’s gifts, and seasonal items—many crafted by regional artists.
Located in the Judith Ann Smith Foyer, the Museum Store is open during regular museum hours. Throughout December, Pearl members receive 20% off their purchases, while non-members enjoy a 10% discount. It’s a great time to become a member and support local arts.
