The Tomball Rotary Club has been named the Rotary International District 5890 Medium Club of the Year, an honor that recognizes the club’s growing impact across Tomball through scholarships, youth programs, nonprofit partnerships, and community service initiatives.

The award was presented during the Rotary District 5890 Conference on May 2 and highlights clubs throughout the Greater Houston region that demonstrate strong leadership, meaningful local engagement, and a commitment to Rotary International’s long-standing motto, “Service Above Self.”

For many in Tomball, the recognition reflects something residents have witnessed for years: a local organization consistently showing up for students, families, nonprofits, and community events that help strengthen connections across the city.

“We are incredibly proud of our members and the work they pour into the Tomball community,” the Tomball Rotary Club leadership team shared. “This award reflects the heart, dedication, and teamwork of every Rotarian in our club.”

Supporting Students, Families and Local Nonprofits in Tomball

Over the past year, the Tomball Rotary Club has expanded its local impact through a wide range of service and fundraising efforts focused on education, youth leadership, and community improvement.

Among the club’s accomplishments:

  • Awarding $25,000 in scholarships to local high school students
  • Supporting three active Interact Clubs that encourage student leadership and volunteerism
  • Packaging meals for Kid’s Meals and supporting area nonprofit organizations
  • Organizing local improvement projects throughout the community
  • Hosting the annual Tomball Rotary Fish Fry, one of the area’s longtime community traditions that helps fund scholarships and service initiatives
  • Participating in district-wide humanitarian efforts tied to literacy, disaster relief, disease prevention, and global health programs

Those efforts have helped make the club a visible part of everyday life in Tomball, where community organizations often play a major role in supporting local schools, nonprofits, and civic engagement.

The annual Tomball Rotary Fish Fry in particular has become one of the organization’s signature events, bringing together residents, business leaders, and volunteers while raising funds that directly return to the community through scholarships and youth-focused programs.
