Bridgeland Theatre Company Expands Summer Stage Opportunities with ‘Les Misérables’ Student Production and Broadway Junior Camps
For many students across Bridgeland and the greater Cypress area, summer break is becoming more than just time away from school — it is also becoming a season for creativity, collaboration and stepping into the spotlight.
This June and July, Bridgeland Theatre Company at Bridgeland High School will once again transform classrooms and rehearsal spaces into full-scale theatrical experiences for local students through two major summer programs: Les Misérables School Edition – Summer Session for incoming 8th-12th graders and the popular Broadway Junior Summer Camp for younger performers entering 1st-7th grade.
The programs are designed not only to sharpen performance skills, but also to give students an opportunity to build friendships, confidence and leadership through the arts — something many families in the Bridgeland community increasingly value as student activities continue to expand beyond athletics and academics.
Bridgeland Students Prepare for ‘Les Misérables School Edition’
The countdown is already underway for Bridgeland Theatre Company’s ambitious student-led production of Les Misérables School Edition, which begins June 1 at Bridgeland High School.
Open to students entering grades 8-12 during the 2025-26 school year, the intensive summer session gives participants the opportunity to experience the full process of mounting a major musical production in just a few weeks — from auditions to rehearsals to live performances.
The registration deadline is Friday, May 29.
Hosted at Bridgeland High School, Door #57, the program includes a packed rehearsal schedule before four evening performances scheduled for June 15-18 at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $20.
Students will work alongside directors, theatre staff and Bridgeland Theatre alumni throughout what organizers describe as a “whirlwind theatrical audition, rehearsal, and performance process.”
For many families, productions like this represent more than entertainment. Community theatre programs often become a place where students discover confidence, public speaking skills, discipline and lifelong friendships while working toward a shared goal.
The production also highlights the continued growth of performing arts opportunities in the Bridgeland area, where student theatre programs have developed strong local support and increasingly ambitious productions.

Broadway Junior Summer Camp Returns for Younger Performers
Younger students will also have their chance to experience the stage this summer through the Broadway Junior Summer Camp program at Bridgeland High School.
Designed for students entering 1st-7th grade during the 2025-26 school year, the camps provide an introduction to musical theatre in a more condensed and beginner-friendly format.
Two separate camp sessions are being offered this summer, each ending with a live student performance for families and friends.
The camps will take place at Bridgeland High School, Door #55, with students participating in morning rehearsals focused on singing, choreography, acting and stage performance fundamentals.
Programs like Broadway Junior often serve as an early entry point into theatre for many children, helping students develop communication skills and confidence in a welcoming environment while giving parents another enriching summer activity option close to home.

Why Programs Like These Matter to Local Families
As Bridgeland and surrounding Cypress communities continue growing, programs like these are helping strengthen the area’s identity beyond neighborhoods and schools alone.
Summer arts programs give students a place to stay engaged, collaborate with peers and continue learning outside the classroom while families remain connected to local schools and community organizations during the summer months.
For many parents, seeing students perform on stage after only days or weeks of preparation is also a reminder of how much young people can accomplish when given encouragement, mentorship and creative outlets.
And for students considering future involvement in theatre, choir, public speaking or leadership activities, these summer productions often become the first step.
Families interested in registering for Les Misérables School Edition or Broadway Junior Summer Camp can find additional details and registration information through Bridgeland Theatre Company.
