BODYBAR Pilates Plans Three San Antonio Studios in Alamo Heights, Stone Oak and La Cantera
San Antonio residents will soon have more options for reformer Pilates, strength training and community-centered fitness as BODYBAR Pilates prepares to enter the local market with three studios planned across Bexar County.
The boutique fitness brand has signed a development agreement for locations serving Alamo Heights, Stone Oak and La Cantera. The first BODYBAR Pilates studio is expected to open in Alamo Heights in spring 2027, giving residents a new place to work on strength, balance and mobility in a group setting.
For San Antonio’s growing wellness community, the expansion brings more than another workout concept. The studios are being developed by Laurie and Eric Falcon, a husband-and-wife team whose careers have centered on caring for others and serving the country.
San Antonio Family Leads BODYBAR Pilates Expansion
Laurie Falcon is a nurse practitioner who has worked with patients in several health care settings, most recently conducting disability evaluations for veterans. Eric Falcon is a U.S. Air Force veteran who retired after 34 years of service as a Department of Defense firefighter.
As they considered what to do next, the Falcons wanted to build a business that would allow their family to continue helping people. They said BODYBAR Pilates stood out because of its emphasis on inclusive fitness, personal progress and supportive studio communities.
“Eric and I are so honored to spearhead BODYBAR Pilates' development efforts in San Antonio,” Laurie Falcon said. “When we were looking into franchises, we knew we weren't just investing in a fitness studio. BODYBAR's mission aligned perfectly with our family's values and made them the clear choice. Since signing on, the corporate team's support and the brand's resources have been amazing. We're confident BODYBAR Pilates will resonate here, and we look forward to creating studios where people of all fitness levels can build strength, improve mobility, and join a supportive community.”
The project is expected to become a broader family effort. The Falcons’ son, who is serving in the military while pursuing his MBA, and their daughter, who recently completed her doctorate in nursing, plan to become more involved as the San Antonio studios grow.
That family connection is likely to shape the atmosphere the Falcons hope to create—one built around service, leadership, wellness and relationships among members.
What Is BODYBAR Pilates?
BODYBAR Pilates is a Fort Worth-based boutique fitness franchise offering contemporary group workouts built around traditional Pilates principles.
Classes use equipment such as Pilates Reformers and Exo Chairs to create workouts that support strength, endurance, balance and mobility. The brand describes its approach as more athletic and energetic than a conventional Pilates class while remaining accessible to people with different experience and fitness levels.
BODYBAR’s studio model emphasizes expert-led instruction and group participation rather than expecting newcomers to already understand the equipment or movements. Its classes typically combine controlled Pilates exercises with modern strength and conditioning elements.
The San Antonio studios are expected to offer the company’s signature athletic Pilates classes, led by certified instructors and adapted so beginners and experienced participants can work within the same welcoming environment.
The brand has grown quickly beyond its North Texas roots. BODYBAR reported 86 operating studios and nearly 21,000 members when announcing the San Antonio agreement, with 30 additional locations expected to open during 2026.
BODYBAR Pilates was ranked No. 497 in Entrepreneur magazine’s 2026 Franchise 500. The company also placed No. 727 on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list after reporting 567% growth over three years.
New Fitness Jobs Planned in Alamo Heights
The Alamo Heights studio is expected to be the first of the three San Antonio-area locations to open.
Once a lease is finalized, the Falcons plan to hire approximately 10 to 15 employees for the studio. Positions are expected to include a studio manager, fitness manager, sales associates and qualified Pilates instructors.
Details such as the studio’s exact address, membership pricing, class schedule and opening date have not yet been announced.
Although the locations are being developed under one agreement, the planned Alamo Heights, Stone Oak and La Cantera studios will serve three distinct parts of the San Antonio area. Each community has established residential neighborhoods, nearby shopping and dining districts, and a growing demand for convenient health and wellness services.
“We're excited the Falcons have taken the opportunity to bring BODYBAR Pilates to San Antonio,” BODYBAR Pilates CEO Matt McCollum said. “San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing metro regions in Texas, and it's an area we've always wanted to have a presence in. The communities they'll be opening in are known for their strong neighborhoods, thriving business districts, and residents who value health, wellness, and an active lifestyle. We look forward to opening these studios as early as next year.”
What Happens Next
The immediate focus will be securing the Alamo Heights lease and preparing the first studio for its anticipated spring 2027 opening. Hiring and instructor recruitment are expected to begin after the location is finalized.
Timelines for the Stone Oak and La Cantera studios have not been released, and development schedules may depend on lease negotiations, construction and other opening requirements.
For residents who have considered trying Pilates but felt uncertain about where to begin, the planned studios are intended to offer an approachable entry point. The Falcons say their goal is to create spaces where members can improve their physical health while also finding encouragement and a sense of connection.
As San Antonio continues to attract new restaurants, retailers and wellness concepts, the BODYBAR Pilates expansion reflects the city’s growing interest in fitness experiences that bring people together rather than simply providing a place to exercise.
