Beat the Heat at Boots For Troops' 1st Annual Indoor Charity Golf Tournament
On July 28, Boots For Troops will host their first annual Indoor Charity Golf Tournament at The Perfect Round in Conroe, Texas.
The public is invited to participate, with proceeds benefitting Boots For Troops, a local non-profit that mails care packages to troops deployed across the globe. Boots For Troops aims to uplift and empower the over-all morale and mental well-being of deployed service members defending our freedom. Each custom care package includes a new pair of boots that are hand-picked for each soldier.
The tournament will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided to all golfers. With several locations across the Greater Houston Area, The Perfect Round is an upscale cocktail bar paired with high end golf simulators that offers lounge style seating, outdoor area, and a relaxed atmosphere. Boots For Troops founder Jimmy Rogers is a Tomball native, graduating high school from Tomball High School in in 2006. He served in the United States Navy and while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, he came up with the idea of Boot for Troops. While deployed, he was fortunate enough to receive care packages but several of his shipmates did not. To help bridge the gap, bring a smile to servicemen and women's faces, and boost morale, he and his wife Lindsey worked tirelessly to bring the vision of Boots for Troops to life, which has raised over $100,000 to in its first year.
