MD Anderson Brings More Imaging and Cancer Screening Services to Northwest Houston
MD Anderson's Northwest Houston Diagnostic Imaging facility is bringing cancer screening and diagnostic services closer to residents along the Highway 249 corridor, with a location serving Cypress, Tomball, Louetta and surrounding communities.
The facility at 21614 State Highway 249, Houston, was the setting for a September 24 community ribbon-cutting celebration listed by the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce. The recent dedication puts a spotlight on a substantial health care project near neighborhoods north of Houston.
A 45,000-square-foot imaging project
The state's architectural-barriers project record describes a 45,113-square-foot renovation and buildout that includes a breast center. The filing lists an estimated project cost of $25.7 million, an April 20, 2026 construction completion date and an inspection-complete status. Those are construction-record details; the estimate is not a report of final spending, and the completion date does not establish when patients began receiving care.
Services available close to home
The clinic offers CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine and PET imaging. Breast services include mammography, 3-D breast imaging, breast MRI, ultrasound and biopsy. Bone-density testing is also available.
Beyond scans, the site provides image-guided biopsies, blood testing and immediate evaluation of fine-needle biopsy samples. Patients can schedule Cancer Prevention Center appointments there, and the location includes a blood donation center.
Check the location before an appointment
This imaging clinic is separate from MD Anderson's Northwest Houston Surgical & Specialty Care facility. Patients should confirm their appointment address in MyChart.
New patients with an outside provider's imaging referral should call 713-792-7171. General clinic information is available at 713-745-0515, and the appointment line is 713-745-5170. Existing patients can also contact their home clinic; new patients without a referral can start with MD Anderson's online appointment information.
Residents can review the official clinic and appointment details and the state project record.
