Bass Pro Shops Opens New Outdoor World Retail Destination in Spring

October 04 2024

Bass Pro Shops celebrated the grand opening of its new Outdoor World retail destination in Spring on October 2, 2024. The occasion, marked with a special Evening for Conservation, was open to the public, introducing the newest addition to the company's retail circuit in Texas. The freshly minted 125,000-square-foot store is Bass Pro Shops' 16th location in Texas and the fourth serving the greater Houston market, delivering a "best-of-the-best" product selection, expert service, and guaranteed low prices to outdoor enthusiasts.

The grand opening event, followed by an outdoor star-studded program and ribbon cutting, provided the public's first look at the new retail location as the store officially opened for business. Entertainment kicked off with a performance by country music singer and songwriter Blaine Holcomb. The occasion featured special appearances from legendary anglers, popular entertainment figures, and leaders in conservation such as Dustin Connell, Chuck Belmore, Kevin VanDam, and U.S. National Archery Team member Lance Thornton. The opening was also graced by PAW Patrol characters and Hall of Fame angler Charlie Evans.

The Grand Opening weekend was not only comprised of celebrity appearances but also included family activities, giveaways, and more. For every dollar spent during the Evening for Conservation, 10 percent was pledged to local conservation organizations.

Bass Pro Shops, founded by avid young angler Johnny Morris in 1972, has grown from a single location in an 8-square-foot section of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri, to being North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company. Recognized as the world's leading supplier of premium fishing tackle, it has also been voted America’s #1 retailer for camping and outdoor gear for three consecutive years.

Upon entering the new 125,000-square-foot Spring retail destination, customers were welcomed by the distinctive Bass Pro Shops ambience, marked by its immersive outdoor theme, meticulous detail, and localized imagery. The store boasted an aquarium housing nearly 100 fish from a dozen species and incorporated regional taxidermy pieces showcasing whitetail deer and turkey.

During the five-day grand opening celebration, customers had the chance to win gift cards, giveaways, and sweepstakes prizes. The continuation of festivities saw daily door prizes, including Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris Signature Steak Strips and Yeti Yonder Water Bottles, among other items.

The new Spring location also introduced an expanded Bass Pro Shops Boating Center, featuring a wide selection of boats and ATVs under White River Marine Group brands. The on-site Power Pros Service Center offered world-class service for boats, motors, and ATVs/UTVs.

Preserving its commitment to the great outdoors, this location aims to carry on Bass Pro Shops' mission to inspire everyone to enjoy, love, and conserve nature. The company's dedication to this cause has seen it provide strong support to local conservation programs and youth-centered outdoor recreation initiatives in Texas. Bass Pro Shops hosts various events throughout the year aimed at connecting new audiences, particularly children, to the outdoors. These interactive activities strive to create the next generation of conservationists by promoting engagement with the natural world.
