39th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Governors Place Reflections

July 11 2024

Thanks to all the folks that participated in our 39th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Governors Place.  In the shade of the tree, it wasn’t too bad – but still hot!  The gathering, parade and pool activities were some of the fond memories that we can all share.  Plus, we learned a lot about George Washington.

We also had donations from several homeowners   Thank you to Chris and Erin Conti, Michael Fischer, Don Wolf, Gary Russell, Jesse Garcia and Fowzia Malik.  And of course our Sheriff's department, Fire Station HCESD #48 and the Scouts!  The fire department led a 10 minute discussion about their work and challenges.  Then about 15 minutes later and during our history quiz, they got a call and like a flash, they were gone.

If you would like to join the committee, please contact me.  Good ideas come from you - please share.

Remember to get out into the neighborhood for Neighbor Night Out and meet your neighbors!  This year Texas celebrates Neighbor Night out on Tuesday, October 1st.  We are planning to have the Clubhouse be a gathering spot.
