For Williamsburg Settlement, the end of summer does not just signal a change of season. It also marks the beginning of planning for another year of maintaining the neighborhood, managing rising service costs and looking for practical ways to help residents prepare for what is ahead.

The Williamsburg Settlement Community Association will begin its 2027 budget process with a budget workshop scheduled for September 22 at the Crest office. While the coming year is expected to bring some financial pressure, the early start gives the association time to evaluate expenses carefully — and gives residents several months to plan ahead before 2027 maintenance fees are due.

Higher Service Costs Will Shape the Williamsburg Settlement 2027 Budget

Among the largest budget considerations for 2027 will be the neighborhood’s trash collection and electricity expenses.

The association expects to absorb a full year of trash collection costs at the new, considerably higher contract rate. The 2027 budget will also include approximately five months under a new electricity contract after the neighborhood’s current five-year agreement expires in July.

Those costs will come alongside the inflation-related increases that can affect many routine operating categories, from contracted services to materials and maintenance.

For homeowners, those numbers matter because the annual budget ultimately supports the services and upkeep residents see throughout Williamsburg Settlement. Careful planning now can help the association balance rising operating expenses while continuing to maintain the neighborhood and its shared amenities.

Residents Can Start Prepaying 2027 Maintenance Fees Now

There is also a practical option available for residents who would prefer not to face the entire 2027 maintenance fee in one payment after invoices arrive.

Residents may begin prepaying next year’s maintenance fee now through Crest Management.

There is no minimum required payment. Crest will accept any amount at any time, and there is no charge for using the prepayment option.

The money simply remains as a positive balance on the homeowner’s account and is applied toward the 2027 assessment when it becomes due.

That flexibility can allow families to spread the expense across several months rather than budgeting for one larger payment around the start of the year.

32 Williamsburg Settlement Homeowners Are Already Paying Ahead

Some neighbors have already taken advantage of the option.

According to the association, 32 Williamsburg Settlement residents currently have positive balances on their accounts, meaning part of their upcoming maintenance obligation has already been set aside.

For a household that expects the January payment to be difficult to absorb all at once, even modest payments made periodically between now and the end of the year could make a noticeable difference.

Prepaying can also help residents avoid finding themselves in a situation where a late payment results in additional fees or where a formal payment plan creates extra charges.

Importantly, prepayment is simply an option — not a requirement — but it provides homeowners with another way to manage their household budget on their own timetable.

When Are Williamsburg Settlement 2027 Maintenance Fees Due?

The association’s 2027 maintenance fees become due January 1, 2027.

Residents who want to begin paying toward that balance early can contact or make payments through Crest Management using the association’s normal account-payment process.
