Williamsburg Settlement Celebrates May 2026 Yard of the Month Winner
On the corner of Hoyt and S. Rebecca Burwell is a beautifully kept yard owned by Valerie and Eric Johnson. The Johnsons, of 22403 S. Rebecca Burwell Lane for 4.5 years, love the Williamsburg Settlement because of the beautiful trees and homes.
Mr. Johnson, takes a lot of pride performing all his own landscaping, although he does employ Mr. Gueuero to perform the weekly mowing. Eric maintains the flower beds with roses, hibiscus, pollinator plants as well as low maintenance perennials all around the trees and the perimeter of the house using the method of neat, clean, and simple.

Eric also has planters with vibrant flowers at the end of the walk path to the house and around the entrance of his front door to create a warm and inviting atmosphere to his guests, who also get to enjoy a beautiful backyard (landscaped by Eric as well). Valerie, meanwhile, loves to play mahjong when she is not working at a private school.
When asked to suggest one plant to have in a yard, the Johnsons suggested pentas "because they can handle the heat and have pretty and colorful flowers."
