Whataburger, the beloved Texas-based fast-food chain, is set to expand its presence in North Katy with a new restaurant at 24710 Morton Ranch Road, near the H-E-B grocery store that opened in February 2024. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), construction on the 3,305-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to begin in early May 2025, with completion expected by late December 2025. The project carries an estimated cost of $2.5 million, marking a significant investment in the growing Katy area.

Founded in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Whataburger has built a loyal fan base across the state and beyond with its signature burgers, fresh ingredients, and 24/7 service. Known for its iconic orange-and-white striped A-frame buildings, the chain serves a menu featuring its famous Whataburger, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Whatachick’n Strips, and customizable breakfast tacos.
