Meet Briana

Briana is a single mother of two children, who has been struggling to make a consistent income due to her family falling ill multiple times. Though the client does run her own online business, sales have been declining since she has not had the time to invest in her business. Because Briana and her family caught Covid twice, she fell behind on her rent and has been trying to catch up since. Sales continued to decline, and her family fell ill again due to mold growing in her apartment. In addition to her family’s health issues, Briana has not been able to cover expenses with the assistance from child support or SNAP.

Luckily, things decided to take a turn for the better for Briana and her family. Her apartment is now under new ownership, and Briana is working with them to resolve the issue. Additionally, WHAM helped her with rental assistance for the months that she had fallen behind on and this prevented her and her children from being evicted. WHAM gave her hope for the future.

Because of people like you, we're able to help people like Briana get back on their feet and change their lives for the better.

Covid-19 has only amplified issues that everyday, low-income individuals were already enduring, making the need for our services higher in demand. Though helping 132,450 people is no easy feat, we only expect this number to climb higher as the effects of inflation persist.
