Upgrades Coming to Bob Allen Park in Hearthstone: Track Repairs and Landscaping in the Works

May 01 2025

Residents of Hearthstone can expect to see some welcome updates coming to Bob Allen Park, the community’s beloved neighborhood green space. According to the March 2025 Spencer Road PUD Board meeting minutes, landscape repairs at the park have been approved, and additional track and fence improvements are being actively considered to further enhance the park’s functionality and appearance.

Approved Landscape Repairs

The approved landscape project at Bob Allen Park includes:

  • Removal of existing steel edging and old granite gravel
  • Addition of topsoil and solid sod in designated areas to improve both aesthetics and safety

These improvements aim to create a more inviting and low-maintenance green space for residents to enjoy while walking, playing, or simply relaxing outdoors. Upgrading the landscaping at Bob Allen Park is part of a larger effort to keep Hearthstone’s shared spaces looking fresh, functional, and family-friendly.

Track and Fence Repairs Under Consideration

In addition to landscaping, the Spencer Road Public Utility District (PUD) is currently evaluating potential repairs to the walking track at Bob Allen Park, a popular feature used by residents for fitness and recreation. Details are still being finalized, but updates to the park’s track surface could significantly enhance safety and comfort for walkers and joggers.

Meanwhile, Cassandra Perez, community manager for Hearthstone HOA, confirmed that the HOA Board is also considering painting the wrought iron fence surrounding the park to improve its appearance and extend its longevity.

Why It Matters

As one of the most visited neighborhood amenities in Hearthstone, Houston, Bob Allen Park plays a central role in community life. By investing in repairs and upgrades, both the HOA and PUD are working together to maintain the park’s value and ensure it remains a clean, safe, and enjoyable place for families, children, and outdoor enthusiasts.
