TWSC Presents a Salute to the Holidays!
The Woodlands Show Chorus with rehearsal location in Conroe is feverently preparing for its upcoming show, Salute to the Holidays, An Explosion of Patriotic and Holiday Music. The concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 2727 North Loop 336 West in Conroe on Veterans Day, November 11. A very special feature of this concert is the current third place international quartet, Lady A Cappella.
Hailing from the vibrant lands of Ohio and Tennessee, the fabulous foursome of Lady A Cappella will compete at the 75th Sweet Adelines Convention and Competition in Louisville the end of October and then sing in the Veterans Day show for TWSC less than two weeks later. These sassy songstresses are not just besties, they're a whirlwind of harmonies and infectious laughter. In 2022, they didn't just grab the 3rd Place International Medalist Title in Phoenix, they also sang their way into hearts worldwide, being voted the "Most Entertaining in the World!" From jazzy jingles to soulful serenades, their eclectic tunes are a testament to their musical prowess. But it's not all just notes and melodies; the bond of sisterhood they share, both among themselves and with the radiant community of Sweet Adelines, is pure magic. This talented quartet is sure to make The Woodlands Show Chorus show a fun adventure for everyone in attendance!
As an added attraction the chorus also features its own award-winning quartets and will host a silent auction, bake sale and refreshments to expand the entertainment. As evidenced by previous shows, this event will surely be an evening to remember. Tickets are on sale now for $25 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under and may be purchased from a chorus member, by calling 888-246-2313 or emailing tickets@thewoodlandsshowchorus.org. Doors open at 4 pm for refreshments and shopping, while the show is from 5-7 pm.
The chorus consists of approximately 60 women of all ages from The Woodlands, Conroe and surrounding communities. Their common bond is a love for singing a cappella music in 4-part harmony and a desire to work with Betty Clipman, Master Director and renowned Sweet Adelines International coach. Betty came out of retirement to make her mark on The Woodlands and Conroe area and reclaim her spot in the Sweet Adelines directing world. The Woodlands Show Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International which was founded in 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, starting as a small group of women who loved to sing. Since then, it has evolved into an organization that spans the globe. As one of the largest associations of female singers to date, Sweet Adelines continues to positively impact lives and help women find their voices, build confidence, enhance their vocal abilities, improve leadership and management qualities, and create a lifelong support system.
TWSC is also performing for several private groups in and around the Conroe and Woodlands area before the end of the year. 2024 will find the chorus preparing for the Sweet Adelines International Competition in Kansas City that fall.
