Tomball ISD Gears Up to Open Online Pre-Kindergarten Registration for 2025 School Year

March 03 2025

Tomball Independent School District (TISD) will open online registration for its 2025 Pre-Kindergarten program on April 1, providing families with young learners the opportunity to enroll in an early childhood education program designed to build foundational academic and social skills.

Eligibility and Requirements

Pre-K enrollment is available to children who are four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year and meet at least one of the state-mandated eligibility criteria. To qualify, a child must fit into one of the following categories:

  • Unable to speak and comprehend English (language assessment required by TISD)

  • Economically disadvantaged

  • Homeless

  • Child of an active-duty U.S. Armed Forces member or a reservist ordered to active duty

  • Child of a service member who was injured or killed in the line of duty

  • Previously in the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) conservatorship (foster care) following an adversary hearing

  • Child of an individual eligible for the Star of Texas Award, which includes peace officers, firefighters, and emergency medical first responders

TISD follows Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines to determine student eligibility for the program. Families will be required to submit specific documentation based on the qualifying category, including income verification, military service records, or proof of foster care status.

The Benefits of Early Childhood Education

Research consistently highlights the significant advantages of high-quality Pre-K programs. According to the Children’s Defense Fund of Texas, early childhood education helps young learners develop critical cognitive, social, and emotional skills that contribute to long-term academic success. Studies show that children who attend Pre-K are better prepared for kindergarten, demonstrate stronger literacy and numeracy skills, and have improved social interactions. Additionally, early education can help bridge achievement gaps among economically disadvantaged students, setting them on a trajectory for future academic achievement.

How to Register

Families interested in enrolling their child in TISD’s Pre-K program can begin the online registration process on April 1, 2025. Parents and guardians should be prepared to submit all required documents to verify eligibility. For more details on qualifications and required documentation, visit the district’s Pre-K registration page at Tomball ISD Pre-K Registration.

Why Enroll in Tomball ISD’s Pre-K Program?

TISD aims to provide a nurturing and academically enriching environment for its youngest learners. The district’s Pre-K program fosters early literacy, language development, and social-emotional learning, ensuring students are well-prepared for their educational journey ahead.

By enrolling in Pre-K, children gain a head start in learning essential skills that support future academic success. As registration opens, eligible families are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to give their children a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
