Three Copperfield Dancers to Shine in Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 2025 Nutcracker Performances

November 13 2025

The magic of the holiday season is arriving early for three young dancers from Copperfield as they prepare to take center stage in one of Houston’s most cherished productions. Jubilee Stratton, Adalyn Stratton, and Ayla Madrid will be performing in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s (HRB) 27th annual performance of The Nutcracker, set for December 5–7 at the CFISD Visual and Performing Arts Center in Cypress.

The beloved holiday classic is part of HRB’s milestone 30th anniversary season and continues to be a favorite among families in Northwest Houston. Known for blending pre-professional talent with world-class guest artists, HRB’s Nutcracker delivers all the holiday sparkle with lavish sets, newly refreshed costumes, live orchestral accompaniment, and imaginative choreography designed to enchant audiences of all ages.

This year’s production will feature professional guest artists Anabel Katsnelson and Alexander Peters of Miami City Ballet as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier, along with Eli Waunch as the Snow King and Joseph Modlin as the mysterious Herr Drosselmeyer.

For Jubilee, Adalyn, and Ayla, the experience is more than just a performance—it’s a celebration of dedication, discipline, and passion for dance nurtured right here in their Copperfield community. These dancers are part of a vibrant group of students who spend countless hours training and rehearsing for their roles, bringing to life Clara’s dreamworld of swirling snowflakes, battling mice, and dancing sweets.

HRB’s Nutcracker is more than a show—it’s a deeply rooted community tradition. With ticket prices intentionally kept affordable and a venue that offers a state-of-the-art experience close to home, families in Harris County, Cypress, and the surrounding suburbs flock to this production year after year.

Showtimes for The Nutcracker are as follows:

  • Friday, December 5 at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
  • Sunday, December 7 at 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM

Performances will take place at the CFISD Visual and Performing Arts Center, located at 11440 Matzke Rd, Cypress, TX 77429. Tickets range from $20 to $35 depending on age and seating. A clear bag policy will be in effect, and no lap seating is allowed for children per fire code regulations.

As HRB celebrates three decades of enriching the Houston region through the performing arts, the inclusion of local dancers like Jubilee, Adalyn, and Ayla showcases the heart of the organization’s mission—to prepare and present tomorrow’s ballet stars while engaging the community in the beauty of classical dance.
