Texas Pride Disposal Expands Holiday Schedule for Williamsburg Settlement Residents

March 25 2025

Texas Pride Disposal, the residential trash and recycling service provider for Williamsburg Settlement in Katy has announced an expansion of its observed holiday schedule. Starting this year, the company will increase its official holidays from four to six, adding Memorial Day and Labor Day to its existing list. The updated schedule aims to improve employee retention by offering benefits that are competitive with industry standards.

The revised Texas Pride Disposal holiday schedule now includes:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Memorial Day (new)

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day (new)

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

The move comes as part of a broader effort to procure and retain excellent employees. Texas Pride noted that its previous four-holiday schedule placed it at a disadvantage compared to other waste management companies operating in the Greater Houston Area.

What Residents Need to Know About Trash and Recycling Services

For Williamsburg Settlement residents, trash pickup continues on Mondays and Thursdays, with recycling collected every Monday. However, if a scheduled service day falls on a holiday, collection will be postponed until the next regularly scheduled pickup day.

To ensure smooth and efficient collection, residents are reminded to follow Texas Pride’s trash and recycling guidelines, including:

  • Household Trash: Place in containers between 20–96 gallons or sturdy bags not exceeding 50 lbs. Position near the garage or side-yard gate by 6:30 a.m. on collection days.

  • Yard Waste: Bag or place in cans under 50 lbs. Tree branches must be tied into bundles no longer than 4 feet and under 50 lbs.

  • Bulk Items: Up to two heavy items (e.g., furniture, appliances, carpet) may be placed curbside on collection days.

  • Excluded Items: No collection of construction debris, paints, concrete, oil, batteries, or hazardous materials. For proper disposal, residents should contact Texas Pride Disposal customer service at 281-342-8178 or email service@texaspridedisposal.com.

Important Recycling Guidelines for Williamsburg Settlement Residents

Texas Pride Disposal continues to emphasize best practices for recycling in Williamsburg Settlement, especially amid ongoing challenges in the recycling industry. Contamination — such as placing food-soiled items or plastic bags in recycling bins — contributes to rising costs and inefficiencies.

Residents should note the following:

  • Do NOT bag recyclables. All items should be placed loose in designated recycling bins.

  • NO plastic bags of any kind are allowed, including grocery or trash bags.

  • Only clean, dry items such as plastics labeled #1–#7, rinsed glass, aluminum cans, newspapers, and paper products are accepted.

  • Items like greasy pizza boxes, paper towels, Styrofoam, and mirrors must be placed in regular trash.

  • When in doubt, “Throw it out” to avoid recycling contamination.

Residents looking to expand their recycling capacity can purchase:

  • 18-gallon bins for $12

  • 32-gallon recycle cans for $30

  • 65-gallon recycle carts for $75

  • Recycling stickers for $5

All items can be obtained directly from Texas Pride Disposal.

By adhering to these updated trash and recycling guidelines and noting the revised holiday waste collection schedule, Williamsburg Settlement residents can help maintain a clean neighborhood and support sustainable waste practices.
