A Community Hub Beyond the Big Screen
Spanning over 21,000 square feet, the Weekley Community Center features a multipurpose room for up to 500 guests, multiple classrooms, a library, and other reservable spaces designed to support events, programming, and emergency response.
After recent storms like Hurricane Beryl, the center played a critical role in community relief efforts—distributing food, water, and supplies and offering a cooling and heating station for residents affected by power outages. It is part of Harris County Precinct 4’s broader commitment to community resilience and engagement.
In addition to seasonal events like the Summer Movie Series, the center offers a wide range of free and low-cost programming including:
- Fitness and wellness classes
- Children’s educational workshops
- Community health events
- Book clubs and cultural activities
The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., welcoming individuals and families of all ages.
A Park That Complements the Mission
Adjacent to the center lies the expansive Richard & Meg Weekley Park, a 190-acre green space open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Maintained by Harris County Precinct 4, the park features an outdoor gym, shaded picnic areas, a children’s playground, pickleball courts, a stocked fishing lake, and a 1.18-mile walking trail. With dozens of trees donated by the Weekley family, the park provides a serene space for both relaxation and recreation.
Richard Weekley—who co-founded Weekley Homes and Weekley Development Company—has long been a prominent civic figure in Houston. He co-founded Texans for Lawsuit Reform and has served on several influential boards. In 2018, he was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame for his contributions to real estate and public service.
