Stageworks Theatre Launches 2025–26 Season with 'Man of La Mancha' Featuring a Dynamic Local Cast

July 30 2025

Rehearsals have officially begun for Man of La Mancha at Stageworks Theatre, kicking off the highly anticipated 2025–26 season with an award-winning musical celebrated for its stirring themes of hope, perseverance, and imagination. Performances run September 19 through October 12, 2025, on the Garza Mainstage at Stageworks Theatre, located at 10760 Grant Rd, Houston, TX 77070.

Directed by Cassandra Zepeda, the production brings together an exceptional cast of local talent, including Elvis Barksdale II, Butch Caire, Peter DeBetta, Sarah Finch, Taylor Fisher, Trey Feistler, Jessy Martin, Allan McFarlane, Dwendol Nelson Jr., Chelsea Scott, Brandon Tanner, Todd Wasserman, and Samantha Williams. These Houston-area performers bring their unique artistry to one of the most enduring musicals of all time.

With a book by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh, and lyrics by Joe Darion, Man of La Mancha is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ classic 17th-century novel Don Quixote. The musical follows Alonso Quijana, an aging man who renames himself Don Quixote and embarks on an extraordinary quest to “right all wrongs in the world.” Featuring iconic songs such as “The Impossible Dream,” “I, Don Quixote,” “Dulcinea,” “I Really Like Him,” and “Little Bird,” the production is known worldwide for its emotional depth and timeless message.
