Spillane Middle School eighth-grader Harper Lewandowski has been recognized as CFISD Student of the Week, an honor that highlights his academic excellence, kindness, and commitment to helping his classmates succeed. Known for his generosity and positive attitude, Lewandowski has earned admiration from both his peers and teachers.
A Student Who Lifts Others Up
At just 14 years old, Lewandowski has made a lasting impression at Spillane Middle School by going above and beyond to assist his classmates in understanding their coursework. Whether it’s reviewing material before a test or offering support during lessons, he is always willing to help.
“I really like helping my classmates because it feels good to see them succeed,” Lewandowski shared. “If I can explain something in a way that makes it easier for them, then I know I’m making a difference.”
Harper’s hard work definitely pays off—he’s a regular on the honor roll, and his teachers can’t say enough good things about his dedication and leadership in class.

A Passion for Learning and Exploring
Among all his subjects, math stands out as his favorite. “My favorite class is math because it’s fun,” Lewandowski said, emphasizing his enthusiasm for problem-solving and logical thinking. His curiosity extends beyond the classroom as well, particularly in his fascination with rockets and space exploration.
“I’m very passionate about rockets and how they work,” he said. “There’s something incredible about how we can send people and machines beyond Earth.” His inspiration? The legendary theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, whose work has fueled Lewandowski’s interest in science and discovery.
Beyond the Books: Sports, Games, and Family Time
Outside of school, Lewandowski enjoys balancing his academic drive with hobbies that bring him joy. “My favorite thing to do after class is play basketball and hang out with my friends,” he said.
Harper is also a huge Minecraft fan—he loves how there’s always something new to build and explore. “Minecraft is my favorite because there are so many things to do,” he explained.
Despite his deep appreciation for science, he also enjoys unwinding with entertainment that brings him closer to family. His favorite TV show? Bluey—a heartwarming animated series he watches with his younger siblings. “I like watching Bluey because it’s something I can share with them,” he said.

When asked about the three things he couldn’t live without, his answer was simple yet telling: “Food, water, and Minecraft.”
As Spillane Middle School and CFISD celebrate Harper Lewandowski’s achievements, it’s clear that his combination of kindness, intelligence, and enthusiasm will continue to make an impact—both in the classroom and beyond.
