Seven Meadows Sailfish Swim Team Registration Opens Soon for 2025 Season
The Seven Meadows Sailfish Swim Team, the official neighborhood swim team for the Seven Meadows Community in Katy, is preparing for an exciting summer season! Registration opens on March 17, 2025, for returning swimmers and on March 24, 2025, for new swimmers, with registration closing on April 25, 2025. The season officially begins on May 1, 2025.
A Community Swim Team for All Skill Levels
The Seven Meadows Sailfish is a recreational summer league team that welcomes swimmers ages 4 to 18. While no prior swim team experience is required, it is recommended that swimmers are comfortable in the water. The team focuses on stroke technique, conditioning, and drills to help young athletes improve their swimming skills in a supportive environment.
As a Division 2 member of the West Houston Aquatic League (WHALe), the Sailfish compete against teams of similar size in one of WHALe’s six divisions.

Practice & Qualification Requirements
Swimmers will train at the Seven Meadows practice pool, located at South Fry and Gaston Rd. Practice sessions focus on improving technique, endurance, and speed to help swimmers excel during competitions.
Swim Qualification Requirements

Ages 10 & under: Must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted after one week of practice.

Ages 11 & up: Must be able to swim two lengths of the pool (50 yards) unassisted after one week of practice.
While the Sailfish do not provide formal swim lessons, the program is structured to help swimmers develop their skills in a fun, team-oriented atmosphere.
Age Groups
Swimmers compete in separate age groups for boys and girls, including 6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & Up.
