Seven Lakes High School Leads Katy ISD in National Merit Semifinalists
Seven Lakes High School is home to an impressive 42 students who have earned the coveted title of 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist — more than any other campus in Katy ISD this year.
“These remarkable students embody the hard work and dedication of our Katy ISD students,” said Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership & Support Emily Craig. “This accomplishment reflects their commitment to academic excellence and the unwavering commitment of their families, teachers and school communities.”
Semifinalists were selected from more than 1.3 million high school juniors who took the PSAT/NMSQT in 2024. The competition, run by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), is among the most prestigious academic recognition programs in the country.

Seven Lakes’ 2026 semifinalists include: Aarjav Desai, Isaac Park, Veronica Zhu, Annie Zhou, Raina Zhang, Philip Zhang, Michelle Zhang, Merissa Zhang, Eric Zhang, Ken Woodward, Rohanna White, Matthew Tsang, Erica Zhang, An Truong, Aarushi Thatola, Aman Singh, Shailesh Satewar, Urmi Sarkar, Christopher Ou, Terynce Nguyen, Vedant Mohan, Sarah Lee, Aarush Kudariya, Maimunah Kausar, Rahid Ismail, Jarrett Hutto, Aditya Hariprasad, Samir Gandhi, Amaan Faisal, Xinyue Dong, Saumya Dharap, Emmanuelle Chern, Ailsa Cheng, Sherry Chen, Autumn Brown, Brandon Rui, Hanyu Song, Svend Rydahl, Ban Mai Nguyen, Komal Maniar, Brian Lu, Rosie Li, Annie Li, Ruiyang Huang, and Daniel Deng.
Each of these students will submit an extensive application to be considered for Finalist standing and potential scholarships, part of the $26 million awarded annually by NMSC.
Their success not only highlights the academic excellence thriving at Seven Lakes High School but also reflects the dedication, support, and high standards that define the Katy ISD community.
