School Is Resuming - Let’s Keep Our Lakes on Eldridge Children Safe

July 17 2026

Submitted by Angela Morin, RISE AMG

Schools will be resuming soon. Lakes on Eldridge has a general speed limit of 25 mph and a reduced speed limit of 20 mph around school hours in certain zones where our kids are gathering. This includes the school bus loading zone in front the Clubhouse and along Summerland Ridge adjacent to Kirk Elementary School.

Access To Kirk School – New Traffic Pattern is Being Implemented

  • The gate access on Summerland Ridge Lane to Kirk Elementary School isunlocked twice daily by LOE residents at morning drop off and afternoon pick up.

  • When dropping off or picking up students, please only park on the Northside of Summerland Ridge (iron fencing side). DO NOT park between the two painted crosswalks.

  • Car traffic will be a one-way pattern from East to West for drop off and pick up to eliminate students from crossing the street unless they are walking or biking.

  • LOE will be adding signage on the West end of the school on Summerland Ridge reflecting no parking and no thru traffic during morning drop off times and afternoon pick up times.

  • Please be respectful of gate attendees, parents or LOE volunteers if they point out errors in the new parking and traffic patterns. They are doing this for the safety of all our children!

  • Please remember to use extra caution and watch out for those children who will be walking orbiking to and from school.

CFISD Bus Stops in LOE

  • Please use extra care around buses and especially when nearing an active loading zone.

  • All drivers must STOP for any school bus with its flashers on.

  • All parents are encouraged to park on the same side of the street as the school bus to prevent children from crossing the streets.

Clubhouse Bus Stop

  • Please use extra care around buses and especially when nearing an active loading zone.

  • All drivers must STOP for any school bus with its flashers on.

  • All parents are encouraged to park on the same side of the street as the school bus to prevent children from crossing the streets.

  • When dropping off or picking up students at the Clubhouse Bus Stop please use the parking lot in front of the clubhouse to avoid the bus having to maneuver around parked vehicles.

  • Only when the parking lot is full is parking allowed on west side (Clubhouse side) of Lake Center Run, but please be mindful that the bus needs plenty of space at bus stop for students to safely get on and off the bus. Parking, drop off and pick up on the east side of Lake Center Run and on the Clubhouse access road are prohibited at all times. The space between the club house access road and the bridge has been designated bus loading zone and should remain unobstructed during active loading hours. The speed limit in this area has been reduced to 20mph.
