Rennell Elementary Third Grader Named Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week
Luke Gentry, a third grader at Rennell Elementary School, has been recognized as the Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week for his outstanding attitude, hard work, and dedication to his education. At just 8 years old, Luke is already making a big impact in his classroom, and his teachers couldn’t be more proud.
Luke’s teacher, Rajvinder Mann, had nothing but praise for him, noting his remarkable qualities as a student. “Luke takes ownership of his learning by using his class time wisely,” Mann said. “He gives his best effort every day, asks questions when needed, and actively participates in class discussions. He’s also known for being kind, supportive, and always bringing a positive attitude to school.”
When asked about his favorite part of school, Luke quickly named math as his top subject. “I love doing the checklists!” he said with enthusiasm. His enjoyment of learning, combined with his proactive attitude, makes him a standout student in his class.

Outside of the classroom, Luke enjoys spending time playing video games. His favorite game is Fortnite, which he calls “fun,” and when it comes to movies, he’s a fan of the quirky Harold and the Purple Crayon, which he says is “funny.”
Luke has big dreams for the future as well. One of his ambitions is to skydive, hoping to conquer his fear of heights. “I want to skydive so I can conquer my fear of heights,” he explained, showing a determination that’s already helping him face challenges head-on.
In addition to his academic achievements, Luke is passionate about football, drawing inspiration from both the game and the Fortnite universe. When asked what he can’t live without, Luke’s answer was simple yet heartfelt: “Food, water, my family, friends, and football!”
Luke’s combination of academic focus, enthusiasm for learning, and positive attitude makes him a well-deserved recipient of the Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week honor. Congratulations, Luke! Keep up the great work!
