Sableridge residents who have been considering a larger role in shaping the future of their neighborhood have an important deadline approaching.

Following the previously issued candidate solicitation notice for the Sableridge Homeowners Association, Inc. 2026 Annual Meeting of Members, homeowners are being reminded that Candidate Information Forms must be received no later than September 11, 2026 for candidates seeking placement on the ballot.

Two positions on the Sableridge HOA Board of Directors are up for election, with each carrying a two-year term.

For residents who have thought about volunteering their time, sharing their perspective or becoming more involved in decisions affecting the community, the upcoming election provides an opportunity to do so.

How to Run for the Sableridge HOA Board

Residents interested in becoming candidates should complete the Candidate Information Form included with the original notice and make sure it is received by September 11, 2026.

Subject to eligibility requirements established by law, candidates who submit the required form by the deadline will have their names placed on the ballot for the 2026 Sableridge HOA Board election.

Residents should keep in mind that September 11 is a received-by deadline, making it especially important for anyone submitting materials by mail to allow sufficient delivery time.

What Residents Should Know Before Becoming a Candidate

Serving on an HOA board can involve considerably more than attending an occasional meeting.

According to the candidate notice, those interested in serving should be prepared to attend Board meetings and devote additional time each week to Association responsibilities. That may include working on homeowner and resident concerns, reviewing and responding to emails, assisting with Association projects and potentially serving as a Board officer or liaison to an Association committee.

The Candidate Information Form also gives prospective candidates the option to provide information about how long they have lived in the community, their occupation or background and why they believe they would be an asset to the Board.

Those responses are optional. If provided, they may be distributed to Association members with the 2026 Annual Meeting materials, although personal contact information such as a candidate’s home address, email address and phone number is excluded from that distribution.

Eligibility Requirements for Sableridge Board Candidates

The notice also outlines qualifications under the Texas Property Code that prospective candidates must acknowledge.

A person may be disqualified from serving on the board of a property owners association if that individual has been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude within the previous 20 years.

The notice further states that two people who live at the same residence cannot serve on the Sableridge Board of Directors at the same time.

Candidates submitting the form must acknowledge that they have reviewed those requirements and are not disqualified under the listed criteria.

Why the Sableridge HOA Election Matters

HOA board elections are one of the most direct ways homeowners can participate in the decisions affecting their own neighborhood.

Board members may be involved in matters ranging from Association operations and neighborhood projects to resident concerns and committee coordination. For homeowners interested in how Sableridge is maintained and how community priorities are addressed, serving on the Board offers an opportunity to take part in that work firsthand.

Even for residents who do not plan to run, the candidate process is an early step toward the 2026 Annual Meeting and election, when Association members will have an opportunity to consider who they want representing the community.

September 11 Is the Key Deadline

This reminder does not represent a new candidate solicitation or a change to the previously announced schedule. It is intended to help Sableridge homeowners keep the existing September 11, 2026 candidate submission deadline on their calendars.

Residents considering a run for one of the two open Board positions should review the original notice and accompanying Candidate Information Form for the complete requirements and submission instructions.
