REMINDER: Oak Park Trails Trash Service Change: Texas Pride Disposal to Replace GFL Beginning August 4

REMINDER: Oak Park Trails Trash Service Change: Texas Pride Disposal to Replace GFL Beginning August 4

July 13 2026

Oak Park Trails residents will soon see a change at the curb, as Texas Pride Disposal prepares to take over trash and recycling service from GFL beginning Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The transition affects every household in the Oak Park Trails community, and residents should watch closely for key pickup and cart replacement dates during the final week of July. While the service provider is changing, the regular collection schedule will not. Trash will continue to be collected on Tuesdays and Fridays, and recycling will continue to be collected on Tuesdays.

Many Oak Park Trails residents may have already received a postcard in the mail from Texas Pride Disposal within the past few weeks explaining the upcoming change. The notice confirms that Texas Pride Disposal will replace GFL as the community’s waste service provider effective Tuesday, August 4.

M.U.D., Not HOA, Initiated the Waste Service Change

One important detail for Oak Park Trails homeowners and residents is who manages the community’s trash and recycling service.

According to the notice shared with residents, Memorial Municipal Utility District, the community’s M.U.D., is responsible for and covers the cost of trash and recycling service for Oak Park Trails. The service is not handled or paid for by the HOA.

That means the move from GFL to Texas Pride Disposal was initiated by the M.U.D., not the Oak Park Trails HOA. For residents, the distinction matters because questions about the provider change, service coverage and waste collection contract are tied to the M.U.D.’s role in community services.

Final GFL Recycling Pickup and Cart Collection Set for July 28

The first major date residents should mark is Tuesday, July 28.

Oak Park Trails residents should place their GFL recycling receptacle at the curb by 7 a.m. that morning. Because GFL may arrive early, residents are encouraged to put the recycling cart at the curb the night before, on Monday, July 27.

On Tuesday, July 28, GFL will complete its final recycling collection for the community and will also collect its recycling receptacles.

Final GFL Trash Pickup and Cart Collection Set for July 31

The final GFL trash collection is scheduled for Friday, July 31.

Residents should place their GFL trash receptacle at the curb by 7 a.m., or put it out the night before to avoid missing the pickup. GFL will collect its final trash pickup and remove its trash receptacles from Oak Park Trails on that day.

For homeowners and families planning around the transition, the final week of July will be the key window to make sure old GFL carts are placed out on the correct days and removed properly.

Texas Pride Disposal Cart Delivery Runs July 27 Through July 31

Texas Pride Disposal will deliver both trash and recycling receptacles to Oak Park Trails residents between Monday, July 27 and Friday, July 31.

The new carts will be delivered to residents’ curbs during that time. Residents should keep an eye out for the new Texas Pride Disposal trash and recycling receptacles as the neighborhood moves through the provider transition.

Although the carts will change, the collection days will stay familiar.

Trash service will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays. Recycling service will continue on Tuesdays.

First Texas Pride Disposal Pickup Begins August 4

Texas Pride Disposal’s first scheduled collection in Oak Park Trails will take place Tuesday, August 4.

That first service day will include both trash and recycling collection.

The next scheduled pickup will be Friday, August 7, when Texas Pride Disposal will collect trash only.

For residents searching for Oak Park Trails trash pickup dates, Oak Park Trails recycling schedule information or Texas Pride Disposal service details, the key takeaway is simple: the provider is changing, but the weekly schedule is not.
