REMINDER: Katy ISD General Election Happens This Weekend: Voters to Decide on Trustee Positions 1 and 2

May 01 2025

This weekend marks an important moment for families and stakeholders across Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD), as voters head to the polls on Saturday, May 3, 2025, to cast their ballots in the Katy ISD General Election. With Trustee Positions 1 and 2 on the ballot, this election offers residents the opportunity to influence leadership decisions that will impact more than 90,000 students across one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas.

Early voting has now ended, and Election Day is the final opportunity for voters to make their voices heard.

What’s at Stake: The Role of the Katy ISD Board of Trustees

The Katy ISD Board of Trustees is a seven-member body that functions as the district’s official policy-making authority. The board is tasked with setting the vision and goals for the district, overseeing fiscal operations, and ensuring the superintendent implements educational programs that support student success.

Elected at-large to serve three-year terms, trustees represent the entire district—not just their designated ballot position. This ensures a unified approach to governing a diverse and rapidly expanding school system.
