REMINDER: Fairfield Resident Garage Sale Returns Oct. 3 With Neighborhood-Wide Shopping and Community Fundraiser

For Fairfield residents who have been meaning to clear out closets, garages or attics, Saturday, Oct. 3 offers the perfect excuse to finally do it.

The Fairfield Resident Garage Sale Fundraiser returns from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, with participating homes throughout the Fairfield community in Cypress opening their garages, driveways and yards to shoppers. The event will be held rain or shine and is hosted by the Fairfield Women’s Club.

Registration is now open for Fairfield residents who want to host a sale at their home.

A Fairfield Tradition That Gives Back

The Fairfield Women’s Club hosts the resident garage sale in both the spring and fall, giving neighbors two opportunities each year to sell unwanted items, meet fellow residents and support community causes.

Although the Fairfield HOA typically prohibits individual garage sales, an exception is made for the Fairfield Women’s Club’s spring and fall events because they serve as fundraisers for the nonprofit organization. Proceeds from registration donations are directed back into the Fairfield community and to local charities.

The Fairfield Women’s Club, which describes itself as “The Heart of Fairfield,” organizes community events, fundraising efforts and service activities designed to bring neighbors together and support local causes.

How Fairfield Residents Can Register

Only Fairfield residents may register to host a sale.

The cost is a $25 nonrefundable donation per household, plus a $1.50 PayPal fee.

Residents who want to participate should register their name and address online, agree to the event terms and conditions, and submit the registration donation electronically through PayPal.

PayPal accepts major credit cards and electronic checks. Organizers specifically caution residents not to send registration money to anyone through Facebook.

After payment, sellers should print their PayPal receipt and keep it available on the day of the sale in case a Fairfield Women’s Club member asks to see proof of payment.

The official registration page is available through the Fairfield Women’s Club website at Garage Sale Registration.

Registration Deadline and Shopper Map

Registration remains open until the morning of the garage sale.

However, homes registered after 11:59 p.m. Friday, October 2 may not be added to the official shopper map.

That Google map will show participating homes throughout Fairfield and can be used by shoppers to plan their routes before heading out. The registered-address map may also be printed.

The official shopper map is available at Fairfield Garage Sale Shopper Map.

Because the event takes place throughout the neighborhood rather than at one central location, the map is one of the easiest ways for shoppers to make the most of the morning.

Important Rules for Sellers

Residents may set up their garage sale in their garage, driveway or yard.

The Fairfield Women’s Club no longer provides garage sale signs, but sellers may place their own signs around the neighborhood.

All unsold merchandise, personal signs and other sale materials must be removed by 3 p.m. on the day of the sale.

The event will take place rain or shine.

Residents of neighboring communities governed by separate homeowners associations, including Villages of Cypress Lakes, Lakes of Fairhaven and Falls of Dry Creek, are not eligible to participate as sellers in the Fairfield event.

The gates at Winding Trails, Summer Gate and Lake Crest are expected to remain open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help shoppers reach registered homes during the event.

Shoppers Can Expect Sales Throughout Fairfield

For bargain hunters, the community-wide format means there may be everything from furniture and home décor to clothing, toys, tools, kitchen items and other household goods available throughout Fairfield.

Shoppers can use the official Google map to build a route and visit multiple registered homes.

The Fairfield Women’s Club also promotes the sale through several channels, including multiple Facebook pages, the Greensheet, The Mirror, the Garage Sale App and local publications like My Neighborhood News.

Sellers are encouraged to help spread the word by posting their address, photos and descriptions of items for sale on the Garage Sale App. They may also place their own signs, provided all signage is removed by 3 p.m.

More Than a Garage Sale

For residents, the fall garage sale offers a practical way to clear out unused items while helping fund programs and charitable efforts connected to the Fairfield community.

For shoppers, it offers a neighborhood-wide morning of bargain hunting without having to travel far from home.

And for the Fairfield Women’s Club, each registration adds to the organization’s ability to support community activities and local charities.
