Ready, Set, Go: Rotary Club of Katy to Host 31st Annual Katy Triathlon in Cane Island
The Katy community is gearing up to welcome the 31st Annual Katy Triathlon. Presented by the Rotary Club of Katy, this beloved sporting event will take place on September 1, 2024 in Cane Island at 2100 Cane Island Parkway, kicking off bright and early at 7:00 AM. This triathlon is not just another race; it is a family event focused on the spirit of selfless giving and a drive to make a difference in the local area.
Since the Rotary Club of Katy's inception nearly 80 years ago, the organization has diligently served as a conduit of change for young lives in the community. As a part of Rotary International, the Katy club contributes to a network of over 1.2 million members spread across 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.
The club, with steadfast dedication, has directed all net proceeds from the triathlon, as well as the Katy Rice Harvest Festival and Wild West Brew Fest, towards need-based and character scholarships for graduating seniors in the Katy Independent School District (KISD). The altruistic effort has resulted in the club funding more than $811,000 in scholarships and $175,000 for a KISD endowment for the Dual Credit Program. This year alone, the Rotary Club of Katy awarded over $120,000 in scholarships to 23 Katy ISD graduating seniors.

The Katy Triathlon offers participants three distinct events: the triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike, each comprising different segments of swimming, biking, and running, subsequently providing awards across multiple categories. Every attendee is assured of race amenities comprising comfortable dry-FIT t-shirts, a drawstring bag, sweat towel, free downloadable event photos, chip-timed event, unique finisher medal, and a post-race party with DJ music and snacks.
Registration for the much-awaited event is now open. Early bird registration is available through August 3rd, with fees at $95 for individuals and $115 for relay teams. Package pick-up will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston West-Katy, located at 16435 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094, on August 30th and 31st.
