Piada Italian Street Food Set to Open at Huebner Oaks in San Antonio This Spring

January 08 2026

Fans of fast-casual dining and Italian flavors have something new to look forward to this spring: Piada Italian Street Food is officially bringing its popular handcrafted dishes to San Antonio, with its first location under renovation at Huebner Oaks, located at 11745 I-10 W, Suite 501. The restaurant is scheduled to open in March 2026, following a $500,000 interior buildout of the 3,400-square-foot space.

Known for its fresh, customizable approach to Italian cuisine, Piada has steadily grown a loyal following across the U.S. for its signature piadas—thin, stone-baked Italian wraps filled with grilled meats, vegetables, sauces, and cheese—as well as grain bowls, pasta dishes, and seasonal specials.

This new San Antonio Piada location will mark an exciting expansion for the brand, which first launched in Columbus, Ohio, in 2010, inspired by the roadside food carts of Rimini, Italy. The founders sought to reimagine Italian street food for an American audience, delivering bold flavors with convenience and quality at the forefront. The result has been a fresh take on fast-casual dining, with over 60 restaurants now in multiple states, including Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

The San Antonio restaurant will be one of Piada’s first in the city and is part of a broader push into Texas, where the brand already operates in Houston, Dallas, Frisco, and Plano. The location in Huebner Oaks Center, a busy retail corridor in northwest San Antonio near the Medical Center, is a strategic choice for introducing the concept to local food lovers and on-the-go professionals.

The restaurant's interior renovation—expected to be complete by early March—will transform the space into a modern, welcoming eatery with 3,411 square feet of dining area designed to reflect Piada’s clean, contemporary aesthetic. Guests can expect an open kitchen layout where meals are prepared fresh to order, offering full visibility into the culinary process.

What’s on the Menu at Piada?

At Piada, guests create their meals in an assembly line-style setup, starting with a base of piada wrap, pasta, or salad. Protein choices include grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, meatballs, and vegetarian options like roasted vegetables or plant-based sausage. Toppings range from shaved parmesan and pickled onions to spicy diavolo sauce and creamy parmesan.

Popular items include:

  • The Avocado Piada with pancetta, arugula, mozzarella, and corn salad
  • Carbonara Pasta with hand-rolled meatballs
  • Power Bowl with quinoa, roasted vegetables, and harissa sauce
  • Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad with grated egg and breadcrumbs

For those with dietary preferences, Piada also offers gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, catering to a wide range of needs while maintaining the brand’s commitment to bold flavors and fresh ingredients.

A Fresh Take on Fast-Casual in San Antonio

As the San Antonio dining scene continues to grow, residents are increasingly seeking options that balance convenience with culinary quality. Piada Italian Street Food aims to meet that demand by offering a menu that's both fast and flavorful, with a European twist that sets it apart from traditional Tex-Mex and Southern fare.

With construction now underway and an anticipated opening date in early March, the arrival of Piada marks another exciting addition to Huebner Oaks’ growing food and retail lineup.
