Pappas Restaurant Weeks Brings Dining Deals and Community Support to San Antonio
San Antonio diners will soon have another reason to gather around the table, as three local Pappas restaurants join a nationwide campaign supporting food banks in the communities they serve.
The inaugural Pappas Restaurant Weeks will run from Aug. 1 through Sept. 7, 2026, offering specially curated menus and featured dishes at participating Pappas Restaurants. A portion of proceeds from the San Antonio locations will be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank, allowing residents to support local hunger-relief efforts through an everyday meal out.
For families planning a weekend dinner, coworkers meeting for lunch or friends looking for a restaurant near them, the campaign offers a simple connection between dining and community service: participating guests can enjoy familiar Pappas menu favorites while helping provide food assistance to neighbors across the San Antonio region.
Three San Antonio Restaurants Participating
The San Antonio-area restaurants taking part in Pappas Restaurant Weeks are:
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen — Northeast Loop 410
76 NE Interstate 410 Loop
San Antonio, TX 78216
Pappasito’s Cantina — San Antonio
10501 Interstate 10 West
San Antonio, TX 78230
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen — La Cantera
15715 Interstate 10 West
San Antonio, TX 78257
Each of the three locations will direct a portion of its Pappas Restaurant Weeks proceeds to the San Antonio Food Bank.
Specific menus, featured dishes and reservation information are being made available through Pappas Restaurants. Diners may want to review the promotion details before visiting, since offerings may differ by restaurant concept or location.
A Meal Out With a Local Purpose
The San Antonio Food Bank manages and distributes more than 1 million pounds of food each week through its programs and network of partner agencies, according to the organization. That food reaches children, seniors, working families and other residents experiencing food insecurity across Southwest Texas.
For San Antonio residents, the local beneficiary is an important part of the campaign. Money generated at participating restaurants will remain connected to the food bank serving this community rather than being placed into a single national fund.
Pappas Restaurants said the broader program includes more than 80 restaurants across eight states, with proceeds benefiting 16 regional food banks.
“For decades, our restaurants have been dedicated to bringing people together around exceptional food and hospitality,” said Christina Pappas, chief marketing officer at Pappas Restaurants. “Pappas Restaurant Weeks is an extension of that commitment on a national scale, giving guests at more than 80 restaurants across eight states the opportunity to experience thoughtfully curated menus while deepening our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.”
Ten Pappas Concepts Join the Campaign
Pappas Restaurant Weeks will involve all 10 of the restaurant group’s concepts: Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s Cantina, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Pappas Bar-B-Q, Pappas Seafood House, Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse, Pappas Burger, Little’s Oyster Bar, Dot Coffee Shop and Yiayia’s Greek Kitchen.
San Antonio’s participation centers on two of the company’s best-known Texas brands.
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is known for seafood dishes influenced by Gulf Coast and Cajun cooking, while Pappasito’s Cantina serves Tex-Mex dishes in a lively, family-friendly setting. The local lineup gives residents options on the city’s North Side, near the airport and along the Interstate 10 and La Cantera corridors.
How Pappas Restaurants Grew Into a Texas Dining Name
Pappas Restaurants is a privately owned, family-operated company based in Houston. The Pappas family’s hospitality history traces back generations, while the modern restaurant group began developing its collection of concepts during the 1970s.
The company says its first restaurant opened in 1976, built around a focus on quality food, attentive service and making guests feel like family. It later expanded across Texas, reaching cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Beaumont, Austin and San Antonio. The first Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen opened in 1986, followed by further growth of the company’s seafood, Tex-Mex, steakhouse, barbecue and casual-dining concepts.
Today, the organization remains privately owned by Harris and Chris Pappas and operates its restaurants directly rather than through franchises.
That long-standing Texas connection may make the new campaign feel especially familiar to San Antonio diners who have celebrated birthdays, hosted family dinners or met friends over seafood and fajitas at the city’s Pappas locations.
Building on Existing Hunger-Relief Work
Pappas Restaurant Weeks expands on the company’s existing community programs, including its Bite to Fight giving initiative and the annual Pappas Can volunteer effort, through which restaurant employees volunteer with food banks.
The new campaign broadens that work by inviting diners to participate through their restaurant choices.
For San Antonio diners, the promotion offers an easy way to enjoy a meal out while also supporting the San Antonio Food Bank’s work in the community. A family dinner or lunch with friends can also help strengthen the food-assistance network serving local households.
What San Antonio Diners Should Know
Pappas Restaurant Weeks begins Saturday, Aug. 1, and continues through Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.
Guests should check the official Pappas Restaurants promotion information for participating menu items, prices and reservation availability before visiting. Reservations are not required at every Pappas restaurant, although the company encourages them at locations that accept bookings.
For San Antonio, the inaugural event is ultimately about more than trying a featured dish. It is an opportunity to spend time around the table while helping the San Antonio Food Bank continue serving families throughout the region.
