October Yard of the Month Brings Frightful Fun to Williamsburg Settlement
What better home to honor to kick off the Spooky Season?! James and Corina chose Williamsburg Settlement life in part because of how beautiful and big the yards were. Now that they’ve been her almost a decade, their favorite thing about our community is how friendly and helpful everyone is.” We have such fantastic neighbors that rally together when in need, big or small to help each other out.”
Sergio Martinez Landscaping maintains their lawn of 3 trees with beautiful flower beds of roaming jew surrounding them. Sadly, they lost a fourth tree to pests, but they turned that into an opportunity to create a sitting area where it used to be. That area is now a gorgeous bench with arch that has jasmine covering half of it. Corina shares that it is her hope that it will all be covered soon on both sides giving the bench shade and beautifully scented flowers. They also have several other plants throughout the yard in hanging baskets and pots. The Snow Queen hibiscus is Corina’s personal favorite. Seen in the front yard, it has grown to be full and has so many red hibiscus flowers on it!
October Yard of the Month Winner
James and Corina Myers of 1811 Abby Aldrich Lane, aka "THE CLOWN HOUSE"
When asked what plant they would suggest to neighbors, they chose Milkweed! Sharing that a previous yard of the month winner inspired them to create their own butterfly garden (in the backyard) to help the monarch population. While creating this garden they also incorporated other host and nectar plants (salvia, columbines, snap dragons, citrus trees, butterfly bushes, marigolds, etc.) not only for the monarchs, but other butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and other pollinating critters! Which makes perfect sense because they are huge animal lovers, feeling zoo like at times - HAHA!
They also love spending time outside whenever possible! Specifically spending a lot of time in their backyard and trying their best to enjoy every moment! They are huge Astros fans and they are the King and Queen of Halloween in the Settlement!

I would love to thanks J and Corina for going above and beyond to give the Halloween lovers of the Settlement a MUST GO spot every year. The Clown house is known across the neighborhood, a destination for so many to come and be frightened! Their whole family makes you feel welcome when you visit, even going out of their way to show the kiddos that are super freaked out a little extra love and that the Clowns are just for fun! Thank you to the Myers family for making our little slice of Heaven a little spookier every Halloween!
Warm regards,
Williamsburg Settlement HOA
