Oak Park Trails Trash Transition Update: What to Do With Remaining GFL Containers
For Oak Park Trails residents still holding onto an old GFL trash or recycling container, there is now a clear next step as the neighborhood completes its transition to a new waste collection provider.
Memorial M.U.D. and GFL have confirmed that GFL has finished collecting its containers from the subdivision and will not be returning for any remaining carts. However, residents do not need to be left wondering what to do with containers that were missed.
How Oak Park Trails Residents Can Dispose of Remaining GFL Containers
Residents who still have an uncollected GFL container at their property should attach a clearly visible note directly to the cart labeled:
TRASH / BASURA / RECICLAR
Once the container is tagged, residents should place it at the curb.
Oak Park Trails’ new service provider, Texas Pride, will collect the properly marked GFL containers during its regular neighborhood routes and recycle them.
Why the Label Matters
The visible label helps Texas Pride crews distinguish an old GFL container that needs to be removed from a resident’s active Texas Pride trash or recycling cart.
Taking the extra moment to clearly mark the container can help make the final stage of the waste service transition easier for both residents and collection crews.
A Simple Final Step in the Service Change
Changes in trash and recycling providers can come with a few loose ends, especially when old carts remain after collection services have already switched over. For Oak Park Trails homeowners, this process provides a straightforward way to get those remaining GFL containers removed without waiting for another GFL pickup.
Residents are encouraged to place any remaining tagged containers at the curb so Texas Pride can collect them during its regular service routes.
Thank you to Oak Park Trails residents for helping keep the neighborhood clean and organized as the community completes the transition to Texas Pride waste collection.
