Oak Park Trails Trash Service Will Switch From GFL to Texas Pride on Aug. 4, With Pickup Days Staying the Same
Oak Park Trails residents served through Memorial Municipal Utility District will soon see new trash and recycling carts at the curb, but their weekly pickup routine will remain unchanged. Beginning Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Texas Pride Disposal will take over neighborhood trash and recycling service from GFL, a change that affects day-to-day household operations across the community.
For families planning summer travel, back-to-school routines, or regular home maintenance, the biggest takeaway is simple: keep your usual collection days in place, but be ready for a cart swap in late July. Trash will still be collected on Tuesdays and Fridays, and recycling will continue on Tuesdays.
The service is managed and paid for by Memorial Municipal Utility District, not the Oak Park Trails HOA, an important distinction for residents with questions about billing, oversight, or the transition process.
What Oak Park Trails residents need to know
The transition from GFL to Texas Pride Disposal will happen over several days at the end of July and the start of August.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, GFL will make its final recycling pickup and remove GFL recycling carts. On Friday, July 31, 2026, GFL will make its final trash pickup and remove GFL trash carts.
Meanwhile, Texas Pride will begin delivering new trash and recycling receptacles to residents’ curbs between Monday, July 27, and Friday, July 31, 2026. Residents should watch for those new carts during the last week of July and make sure they are brought in and used once service changes over.
First pickup with Texas Pride begins Aug. 4
Texas Pride’s first Oak Park Trails pickup is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Both trash and recycling will be collected that day. The next scheduled service will be Friday, August 7, 2026, for trash only.
Residents are asked to place GFL carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on the final pickup days, or the night before, to help ensure the old carts are collected and removed on schedule. That step will help keep the neighborhood transition orderly and reduce the chance of missed cart retrievals.
